DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   Provide Quality Assurance advisory and assistance services to the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Rocket Lab at Edwards AFB, California.  Duties will include:   - Provide professional quality assurance and consultation services to project managers, engineers, scientists, work managers and Logistics Branch Chief. - Represent the government on all test and logistics quality assurance activities. - Manage the quality assurance processes for AFRL rocket propulsion research/ test and logistics activities. - Coordinates and integrates with logistics offices and others to accomplish the quality assurance reviews. - Assess and determine the level of project quality assurance reviews and overall compliance of test/logistics activities. - Advise project managers, test directors, test conductor, etc. on technical and quality assurance requirements. - Provide quality assurance assessment of test facilities, systems and hardware to evaluate compliance with Air Force and industrial standards. - Develop and process reports in Air Force specified tracking databases and present results to site leadership as required. - Provide quality assurance reports of compliance reviews to work manager, quality assurance superintendent and management. Present test quality assurance review results to Test Execution Authority for approval. - Performance may exceed a standard 40-hour week in the event of test operations, contingencies or other emergencies with no notice. - Report activities to work manager and Logistics BC on a weekly basis at a minimum. - Provide training to Logistics personnel on supply and logistics policies and implementation to ensure compliance with Air Force and industrial standards.   Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies.  We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems.  Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).   This position will be located at Edwards AFB, CA.                                                           EOE/Minority/Female/Disabled/Veteran

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES   Provide advisory and assistance support to the Experimental Demonstration Branch (RQRO) of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Aerospace Systems Directorate, Rocket Propulsion Division at the AFRL Rocket Lab, Edwards AFB, CA. The Technical Advisor will represent the government in a non-decision making, advisory and assistance role, providing support in design, development, build and operation of propulsion test facilities at the AFRL Rocket Lab.   Duties will include the following: - Provide timely, accurate, relevant, and precise scientific and engineering technical insight and advisement on RQRO test facilities and programs. This includes analysis of test facilities and resources for rocket propulsion Research & Development (R&D) efforts in support of liquid or solid rocket technology development.  - Promote efficiency-minded policies and advocate for implementation of best practices from across multi-disciplinary organizations to enable RQRO to execute effectively. - The focus areas can include but are not limited to; characterizing and understanding the AFRL Test Stand technical processes and systems interactions and needs, ASME B31 series piping, AWS specifications, rocket motors and engines, composite cases and tanks, nozzle assemblies, propellant grains, operational characteristics, manufacturing, missile system trades, test operations best practices, and personnel training program development. - Support of thermal analysis, structural analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), fluid analysis, trajectory studies and CAD model development, plus any other items that are deemed necessary to provide a complete recommendation about activities. - Consulting, A&AS representation of the government for various meetings/decisions, advising and interacting with affected in-house and external peers and customers, providing recommendations for optimal application of resources for current and future test needs, as well as providing recommendations for opportunities to innovate test methodologies. - Review and approve branch document IAW STINFO, Export Control and SCG guidelines. - Review final data packages for release to customer.
