Pipefitter - Surge Worker

Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies.  We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems.  Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

This position is a temporary-full-time position anticipated to last up to 60 working days and will be located at NASA’s White Sands Test Facility in the Technical Services Department.

Provides quality and timely pipefitter support services.

Must be able to apply comprehensive technical knowledge to solve problems that typically can be solved by interpreting manufacturer’s manuals or similar documents in working with equipment and installation. These tasks include, but are not limited to, layout and preparation of piping for welding and installation, pipe measurement, layout preparations, fitting, chamfer and edge preparation, tack welding and welding assistance. Performs work and maintains work area in a neat, orderly, and safe manner. Performs related duties as required.

Must have a total of five (5) years directly applicable experience and/or related civilian or military trade school training. Must be able to pass the NMED water and wastewater system operator’s test. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license (state). Must be able to pass a physical examination as determined by the White Sands Test Facility (WSTF) and Jacobs Engineering. Be able to meet the requirement for certification, if
applicable, as specified in the White Sands Training Database (WSTD).
