Overview

Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies.  We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems.  Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

 

This position is located at our Milan Ohio facility.  This position may be temporary; minimum duration is 15 months, but may be extended based on additional future contracts won by Sierra Lobo.

Responsibilities

FUNCTION OF POSITION

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to, performing clerical and physical tasks in connection with shipping goods and receiving incoming shipments. Responsible for all incoming and outgoing materials as well as documentation and inventory of all materials. May also perform other duties associated within area of assignment as directed by management.

  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Receiving

 

  1. Ensures each delivery has documentation (packing slip, bills of lading, invoices, orders, etc.) to support computer system entries into procurement system (JAMIS).
  2. Unpacks and examines incoming shipments for comparison to the Purchase Order.  Confirms part numbers and quantities, identifies damaged items, records shortages, and confirms required quality documentation is included.  Corresponds with requestor and shipper to disposition and rectify problems.
  3. Completes Receiving entries in computer.
  4. Scans documentation into computer and attaches them to the appropriate Purchase Order.
  5. Notifies requestor or technical POC of incoming products and requests technical inspections when necessary.
  6. Operates material handling equipment (forklift, truck, crane, hoist, etc.) to move items from shipping-and-receiving counter to storage or work area.
  7. Maintains inventory of shipping materials.
  8. Prepares and updates reports.
  9. Provide administrative support to procurement group as needed.

Requires maintenance and cleaning of receiving and inventory areas, inventory organization and racking, inventory cycle counting and reporting, routine inventory accounting,

 

Outbound shipments

 

  1. Requires preparation of sequentially numbered paperwork in accounting system (JAMIS), management of packaging materials inventories, packaging of product to be shipped, and arrangement of transportation
  2. UPS/FedEx software is to be used effectively and understood for summary reporting on General housekeeping, maintenance and organization of the dock and inventory areas.
  3. Requires hands on cleaning and maintenance along with organization and interpersonal skills to coordinate with other department and outside waste disposal
  4. Requires completion of daily outbound entries in computer Shippers distributed to purchasing office for filing.
  5. Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes
  6. Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons, using stenciling equipment.
  7. Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers. Inserts items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective
  8. Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape, using strapping Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
  9. Operates material handling equipment (forklift, truck, crane, hoist, etc.) to move items.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

 

  1. Education or years’ experience commensurate with skill level required for position complexity as determined by management.
    2. Knowledge of UPS Software, FedEx Software and ReQlogic preferred.
    3. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions from Leads and management.
    4. Ability to use own judgment and decisions to allow continuity of workflow.
    5. Must be self-motivated and a “Team Player” with good interpersonal and communication skills.
    6. Must be able to organize time, assignment and properly prioritize efforts for maximum effectiveness.
    7. Must be capable of passing required physical examinations and successfully completing assigned training or other required training or certifications as directed by management.
    8. Must have general computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Will require an extensive amount of walking, plus a moderate amount of sitting, standing, climbing, bending, stooping, and kneeling for extended times.
  2. Lifts and carries items up to 35 pounds.
  3. Pushes and pulls heavy objects.
  4. Ability to use hearing and vision protection equipment.
  5. Ability to handle stress and work well under pressure

 

EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES INVOLVED IN WORK TASK

  1. Work indoors and out in high and low temperatures and in all types of weather conditions.
  2. Work in dusty, noisy, hot, high humidity, dirty and greasy environment.
  3. Work with other personnel in a group that is team oriented.
  4. Accept and work within established policies and procedures pertaining to company rules and regulations.

 

CRITICALITY OF ATTENDANCE

Regular daily attendance and reporting on time is required to maintain shift effectiveness. Overtime (Holidays, Weekends, and Scheduled & Unscheduled) may be required.
