Overview

The Test Facilities Operation, Maintenance, and Engineering (TFOME) contract at the NASA Glenn Research Center, Neil A. Armstrong Test Facility in Sandusky, Ohio is currently accepting INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY for a Technical Services Supervisor. The Technical Services Supervisor is responsible for providing supervisory and technical guidance to personnel engaged in a specialized technical support function.

Responsibilities

The Technical Services Supervisor is responsible for the following:

  1. Ensuring all craft and technician work for testing, development, and general services are completed in accordance with work instructions, procedures, safety requirements, quality assurance, and within established budgets and schedules. 
  2. Serving as the focal point for work requests of the group; planning, organizing, and coordinating the activities of personnel engaged in a specific technical support function.
  3. Controlling and reviewing work to assure timeliness and accuracy.
  4. Leading and directing technicians and skilled trades employees by providing technical direction and support for projects.
  5. Assisting employees with problem resolution by counseling employees and commending or reprimanding them as appropriate.
  6. Completing performance evaluation reviews, seeking interpretation of company policies as required, and informing employees. 
  7. Enforcing safety regulations and PPE.
  8. Performing any other related duties required to meet objectives of the contract.
  9. Ensuring all data deliverables, reports, and submittals are accurate and timely.

Qualifications

  1. Current TFOME Employee.
  2. Minimum of two (2) years college or vocational training in a technical or skilled trades/specialized area plus ten (10) years relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education/experience for a minimum total of twelve (12) years.
  3. Minimum of one (1) year experience in a lead technician role. This experience should be in the aerospace industry with a preferred emphasis on test and R&D operations and facilities with NASA.
  4. Demonstrated leadership ability and good communication skills are required.
  5. Knowledge and experience in technical areas associated with testing and related support areas for a given TFOME group, such as, thermal vacuum testing, space propulsion testing, facility and subsystem operations and maintenance, and machining and fabrication services.
