Overview

Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies.  We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems.  Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

 

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented computer science/software engineering intern. The candidate will assist in the design, development and testing of software used in the Propulsion department.

 

This position is a part-time fall internship and will be located at NASA’s White Sands Test Facility in Las Cruces, NM.

Responsibilities

Assist in developing, testing, and debugging software tools used for data acquisition and control systems.

Create and maintain MATLAB scripts for post test data processing.

Collaborate with other programmers, data analysts and electrical engineers in the buildup of a new data acquisition and control system.

Review production code and improve documentation where needed.

Contribute to design documentation, including specifications, test reports, and design memos.

Participate in design reviews, code reviews and team meetings.

Qualifications

Currently a junior or senior Software Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering student.

Proficiency in one or more programming languages (C#, JavaScript, MATLAB, Python, Fortran, LabVIEW, PAC Control).

Basic knowledge of FPGA development tools.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
