Overview

Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies.  We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems.  Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

 

This is a full-time direct-hire position located at or near our Hoover Road facility in Milan, Ohio. The successful applicable will support multiple integrated project teams in the reactivation and ongoing operation of a world-class government-owned aerospace research and test facility.

 

Responsibilities

General Responsibilities:

This position involves managing the configuration of drawings, models, documents, verifications, etc. throughout their lifecycle to ensure consistency, reliability, and compliance with determined standards. The Configuration Manager is responsible for maintaining detailed records of system configurations, managing version control, implementing changes, and ensuring that any modifications are systematically documented. They work closely with various teams to coordinate updates, resolve issues, and optimize the configuration management strategy, ultimately ensuring the company's control in these matters remains robust and efficient.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and manage multiple configuration databases.
  • Monitor configuration changes and updates.
  • Oversee drawings, models, documentation, etc. version control.
  • Ensure documentation of configuration changes.
  • Interface with departments to define configuration requirements.
  • Conduct compliance audits.
  • Develop configuration management policies and plans.
  • Lead configuration control board meetings as required.
  • Track and manage configuration items and baselines.
  • Resolve configuration issues and provide technical support.
  • Collaborate with leads on configuration changes.
  • Train staff in configuration management tools and processes.
  • Support new configuration deployments with documentation and verification.
  • Create and update configuration documentation and system diagrams.

Daily Tasks:

  • Review, approve or reject all change requests.
  • Keep the various configuration management systems up to date with new or modified configuration items.
  • Coordinating with the designers and IPT leads to ensure proper configuration control of drawings, models, analysis, documents, test reports, SOW’s, verifications, etc., etc. being developed and/or modified.
  • Providing guidance and training to other staff on configuration management best practices.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with configuration management tools and systems, and an understanding of configuration management principles and practices. Familiarity with “TeamCenter” and/or “WindChill” databases a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Strong organizational, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills to educate users and collaborate with teams. The candidate must exhibit outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, paired with acute attention to detail and superior organizational and project management capabilities. They will be adept at communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Education & Experience: Typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field and 3-5 years of experience in IT and configuration management processes.
