Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies.  We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems.  Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

Responsibilities

OVERVIEW

Responsible for supervising contract purchasing, budget and cost analysis. This position routinely interfaces with all divisions of personnel of a technical engineering contract including a government staff of financial analysts and cost managers.

 

 

TYPICAL FUNCTIONS

The Business Manager (BM) is responsible for the following: 

  1. Monthly financial reporting, government contract compliance, and financial planning and analysis. 
  2. Develop budgeting and forecasting models.
  3. Preparation and review of the cost and invoices.
  4. Preparation of monthly and ODC reports.
  5. Review accounts payable checks for proper account coding before forwarding to Program Manager.   Sign and distribute accounts payable
    checks. 
  6. Prepare quarterly property report and Commercial activity Tax calculations.
  7. Review and update policies and procedures as needed.
  8. Assist Corporate office as needed.
  9. Track tuition reimbursements to ensure employees are staying within agreed reimbursement amounts per year.
  10. Interface with government customers including but not limited to CO, COTR, FMD and other support personnel as needed.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related discipline.
  2. 15 or more years of experience in finance or business management. A Master's Degree can substituted for years of experience.
  3. Knowledge and experience with financial management reports , government contract compliance and financial planning preferred.
  4. Direct experience as a Business Manager  for a government support service contract, direct experience as a manager of a similar or larger sized support service government contract, or previous government NASA or DoD branch or division level management experience.
