Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies. We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems. This position will be located at NASA’s White Sands Test Facility in Las Cruces, NM.

1. Must be able to apply technical knowledge to perform mechanical tasks involved with working on development, qualification, WSTF critical, and Class I flight hardware and components; and in the maintenance and operations of facility systems.
2. Must have the ability, and with adequate training be able to disassemble, repair, and perform acceptance testing of hardware and components, whether they are flight-like items or facilities related items.
3. Must be able to maintain accurate records and utilize electronic correspondence.
4. Must be able to provide technical knowledge in solving routine problems associated with these areas.
5. Must have the ability to fabricate, checkout, maintain, adjust, troubleshoot, modify and operate mechanical type facility support systems, test equipment, and components.
6. Where needed, must assist engineering and senior technician personnel in determining the methods for troubleshooting, repairing or modifying components, systems and equipment.
7. Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow detailed procedures and work instructions.
8. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as fluid system schematics, detailed component and manufacturing drawings, fabrication and processing specifications, safety rules, operations and maintenance instructions, manufacturer’s manuals and other similar documents.
9. Must be able to perform work in a Foreign Object Debris awareness environment where appropriate and maintain work area in a neat, orderly, and safe manner. This may include the performance of daily housekeeping activities such as mopping, vacuuming, cleaning of work surfaces, etc.
10. Perform other duties as required to include shop and clean room related fill-in and housekeeping tasks, assisting administrative and engineering personnel in the transport of supplies and equipment.
11. Must be willing and able to obtain the training necessary to provide reporting and use databases for such tasks as (but not necessarily limited to) maintenance and calibration tracking.
12. Must meet operational requirements through coordination with engineering and supervision, including review of work authorizing documents such as TPSs, DRs, and WJIs.
13. Must be capable and willing to support site initiatives outside of the immediate work of the Flight & Special Test Equipment Processing organization, such as C/PAR teams, safety working groups, design reviews, system safety analyses, test readiness reviews, etc.
14. Desk/office work including computer work requiring and understanding basic computer knowledge and Microsoft software.
15. Perform additional related duties as required.
