Overview

Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies.  We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems.  Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

 


This position will be located at NASA’s White Sands Test Facility (WSTF) in the Propulsion Department.

Responsibilities

1. Apply working knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks in working on electronic equipment.
2. Develop, check out, maintain, adjust, operate, troubleshoot and modify electronic control, instrumentation, data acquisition, and electro-mechanical systems.
3. Fabricate and maintain new instrumentation, data acquisition, and video monitoring/recording, and control systems to support test programs.
4. Must be able to perform circuit board level soldering.
5. Must be able to fabricate and test various types of cables including coaxial, multi-conductor, shielded and unshielded to include crimping or soldering of pins to individual conductors and using insertion/extraction tools to pin/unpin connectors.
6. Follow detailed procedures and instructions in the performance of these duties.
7. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operations and maintenance instructions, manufacturer’s manuals, electronic schematic diagrams, and other similar documents.
8. Write routine reports and correspondence.
9. Performs work and maintains work area in a neat, orderly, and safe manner.

10. Perform additional related duties as required.

Qualifications

1. Must have at least two (2) years of higher education in related field from a civilian or military trade school.

2. Must have two (2) years of related work experience either civilian or military.

3. Must have basic computers skills, including knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office software.

4. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.

5. Within (2) two years, must meet requirements for qualification as an Instrumentation Technician (PDQ-033), Controls Technician (PDQ-020), or Maintenance & Altitude Electrical Technician (PDQ-022), as specified in the White Sands Training Database (WTBD) or SATERN.

6. Must pass a physical examination as determined by the WSTF physical examinations requirements for the job classification.
