Overview

The Test Facilities Operation, Maintenance and Engineering (TFOME) contract at the NASA Glenn Research Center, Neil A. Armstrong Test Facility in Sandusky, Ohio is searching for an Electrician Apprentice.

The Electrician Apprentice trains under journeyperson level electricians to learn required technical skills to handle work assignments related to the buildup, operation, and maintenance of unique research test facilities located at the NASA Glenn Research Center, Neil A. Armstrong Test Facility.

Responsibilities

  1. Complete 8,000 hours of on-the-job training with experienced journeyperson electricians.
  2. Attend an accredited technical college program in an electrical discipline.
  3. Training will include, but not limited to:  electrical build-up, fabrication, assembly, installation, repair and troubleshooting of electrical facility related equipment and test hardware applications.

Qualifications

  1. Must successfully complete 8,000 hours of on-the-job training as part of the requirements for the TFOME contract and the Electrician State of Ohio Apprenticeship Program.
  2. Must successfully complete an Electrical Applied Science or Electrical Engineering Technology Program at an accredited technical college.
  3. Must demonstrate competency over the course of the program in order to continue the apprenticeship program and on-going employment.
