Overview

Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies.  We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems.  Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

 

This position will be located at NASA’s Marshal Space Center (MSFC) on the Redstone Arsenal located in Huntsville Alabama.

Responsibilities

This position provides support to the Electrical Fabrication and Test Facility by primarily performing fabrication of avionics hardware. Duties include printed circuit board assembly, box assembly, cable and harness fabrication, and electrical testing as required. These activities dictate the understanding and adherence to pre-approved procedures.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Electrical Fabrication & Assembly
    • Hand Soldering
    • Printed Circuit Board Population
    • Electrical Cable Harness Assembly
    • Polymeric Applications: Potting, Staking, and Conformal Coating
    • Box Level Assembly & Wiring
  • Complete and maintain certification to relevant NASA and IPC standards including but not limited to NASA-STD-8739 series and IPC J-STD-001.
  • Adherence to Electro-Static Discharge guidelines
  • Perform precision and general assembly in the open shop and in an environmentally controlled clean room.

 

Other useful skills:

  • Knowledge of and work experience with Space Flight hardware.
  • Familiarity with and ability to read electrical schematics and design drawings.

Qualifications

 

Tech III

Education: Associate Degree, AS equivalent for 2 years’ experience.

Experience: 4 years general experience in Electrical Fabrication, Test, and Assembly involving vehicles, systems, subsystems, and/or components if no AS degree, 2 years with a AS degree.
