Overview

The Institutional Services of the Test Facilities Operation, Maintenance, and Engineering (TFOME) Contract at the NASA Glenn Research Center, Neil A. Armstrong Test Facility in Sandusky, Ohio is in search of an Electrician to perform a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.

Responsibilities

Job duties include, but not limited to:

  1. Installing and repairing a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, and other transmission equipment.
  2. Working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
  3. Working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
  4. Locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical systems or equipment.

Qualifications

This position requires:

  1. A Journeyman’s Certificate or equivalent skills and experience, or an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Engineering Technology.
  2. At least two (2) years of related experience.
  3. Familiarity with basic electrical codes and knowledge of proper use of the NEC handbook.
