    The Test Facilities Operation, Maintenance and Engineering (TFOME) team at the NASA Glenn Research Center providesengineering and technical services in the areas of aeropropulsion and space propulsion and power test facilities.  TFOME management is dedicated to excellence in service and to providing outstanding technical opportunities for our employees.  We specialize in providing unique products and services to NASA Glenn.  We are currently seeking Data Network Engineer candidates to join our team that will be providing data systems support as part of the TFOME team at the NASA Glenn Research Center.




    Design, Develop and Maintain specialized computer and instrumentation system networks for use in NASA Glenn Research Center’s aeronautical and space systems facilities. 



    • Work alongside NASA and contractor system developers and programmers to customize networks that will integrate NASA-specific requirements into a new commercial data acquisition system as well as general PC based network and instrumentation systems.
    • Develop, test and debug network systems, enforce network standards, perform upgrades, configure new and existing routers and switches, update network topology.



    • Bachelor’s in Network Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.   


    • Prefer at least three (3) years relevant work experience working directly with network design and installation.
    • Prefer at least three (3) years relevant work experience working directly with network design and installation.
    • Must be capable of configuring new and existing networks for optimal and/or redundant performance.
    • Capability to investigate complex data network faults (hardware and software) in local and wide area environments using information from multiple sources including a variety of different test equipment.
    • Proficiency in securing network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access.
    • Design, Maintain and Administer networks and network hardware in line with IT security policy.
    • Proficiency in network media design and installation (CAT-“X” and fiber optic cabling, routing, installation, termination, and testing).
    • Capability to configure routing and switching equipment and firewalls.
    • Capability to troubleshoot and return systems to service in a timely manner;
    • Must be able to work with others.
    • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) in order to quickly integrate into a team environment.
