The Test Facilities Operation, Maintenance and Engineering (TFOME) team at the NASA Glenn Research Center providesengineering and technical services in the areas of aeropropulsion and space propulsion and power test facilities.  TFOME management is dedicated to excellence in service and to providing outstanding technical opportunities for our employees.  We specialize in providing unique products and services to NASA Glenn.  We are currently seeking a Software Test Engineer candidate to join our team that will be providing data systems support as part of the TFOME team at the NASA Glenn Research Center.




Principle Duties:

  • Test new data acquisition software and applications.
  • Maintain documentation of test results and assist with debugging and modification of tested software.
  • Design code and execute test plans.
  • Engage with software development team during design phases to improve software testability.
  • Analyze test results and ensure intended functionality. Analyze and write test standards and procedures. 





  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.

  • Prefer at least five (5) years relevant work experience testing desktop applications, network distributed services and/or real-time embedded systems.
  • Strong understanding and background in C++, UNIX and Linux.

  • Firm understanding of the software development life cycle and associated software test methodologies.

  • Experience with multi-system integration and regression testing, and load/performance experience is a must.  

  • PLC's, electrical and mechanical process systems, general instrumentation and network connectivity, where applicable, will be considered a plus.

  • Must be familiar with the Microsoft Office product family.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written) in order to quickly integrate into a team environment.
