| Overview: |
Ensures efficient and user-friendly information solutions for Sierra Lobo Huntsville Office staff, and provides support to SLI contracts in the Huntsville area and other locations as necessary.
|
| Responsibilities: |
Web Interface Software Development - Design, develop, implement, and maintain web-based applications, including web sites, portals and web systems to automate business processes in support of in-house, as well as support service contracts needs.
- Improve existing or developed web portal/site design, efficiency, look and feel. Troubleshoot, debug, research web portal to resolve technical issues.
- Monitor site traffic and help scale site capacity to meet traffic demand.
- Utilize knowledge in various communication protocols to ensure that all end users have access (through web-portal) to pertinent business information, knowledge, and software that may be residing on different IT Platforms.
- Develop and implement data translation programs to convert existing manual interfaces between business application that may be working on different IT platforms into automated interface and to integrate these systems into web-portals.
- Perform program coding and testing utilizing a variety of programming languages, GUI components concepts, practices, and procedures (i.e., ASP, .NET, SQL, XHTML, C#).
- Follow approved life cycle methodologies planning and performing, from strategic definition to end-of-life.
Database Systems / Software Development and Administration - Design, install, and maintain database systems ensuring high levels of data integrity, availability and reliability. This includes developing and implementing database architecture, design, model, data access, coding standards and table maintenance codes. It also includes defining user interface and functional specifications and developing and implementing change control and testing processes for database modifications.
- Develop databases quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure database access, consistency and integrity. This includes designing and implementing redundant systems, and associated policies and procedures for data archiving and disaster recovery. It also includes configuration of relevant network components for effective data assets protection and integrity.
- Design, implement and support data warehousing including monitoring, optimizing and allocating physical storage and verifying data accuracy. Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems. Monitors and resolves database performance, capacity, replication, and other distributed data issues. Monitor database system details, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements. Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues.
- Create automated business processes in response to business user needs. Convert report specifications and/or business process description into computer program. Convert a business rule via stored procedures, middleware, or other technologies into automated business logic (process). This includes writing code for database construction, access, manipulation, modifications, and warehousing.
- Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards to support development efforts.
- Perform database transaction and security audits. Establish appropriate end-user database access control levels. Develop routines for end-users to facilitate best practices database use.
Local Network Administration - Support and troubleshoot local area network equipment, including file servers, router(s), network cards, cabling, switches, wireless network, printers, faxes
- Support other communications systems, such as phone systems, security systems, and presentation systems
- Ensure data protection by enforcing Corporate Information Management policies, and promoting use of best practices
Help Desk / End User Support - Support and troubleshooting end user software and hardware problems
- Communicate and coordinate troubleshooting tasks and requirements with corporate office
Data Analysis / Reporting - Develop custom reports using MS Excel, SQL Server Reporting Services

| Qualifications: |
Education - Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field or demonstrated relevant, equivalent experience required.
Experience - A minimum of five years of experience in Database Management Systems and Web Programming.
Additional Requirements: Experience with - Writing Stored Procedures in SQL Server

- Current security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of security clearance as required by the position.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
