Overview:

 Prepare developmental/qualification test plans and reports for aviation related systems, sub-systems and components.



Responsibilities:

 B. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 1. Coordinate the collection of test requirements for plans and test data for reports.
  • 2. Manage multiple test projects simultaneously.  
  • 3. Perform on-site test monitoring.

C.        NATURE OF POSITION CHALLENGES

  • 1. Familiarity with MIL-STD 810, MIS-STD 464.   
  • 2. Tests will be conducted at the Redstone Technical Test Center, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama and other test sites. 
  • 3. Proficient in the use of MS Office programs including, Word, Excel and Powerpoint. 
  • 4. The ability to write clear, concise descriptions, instructions and narratives documenting test requirements and results.

D.        SUPERVISOR GUIDANCE

  • Responsible for executing projects within approved work plans and resources.      Capable of working with minimal supervision.

E.        SUPERVISION OF OTHERS

  • Provides technical direction to assigned project personnel (engineers and technicians) and assists management on administrative matters.

F.         RESOURCES IMPACTED

  • Planning and execution of test projects has direct impact on funding, labor resources, and materials.


Qualifications:

 KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors of Science in engineering from an accredited college or university 8 years experience in aviation or weapon system testing, project management or test facility operation

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION

A.    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Visual and physical contact with test system hardware and testing of missile or aviation systems.  Transportation of notebooks, drawings, forms, sensors, etc. required.  Work requires movement between buildings and various work sites within buildings.

B.    WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is accomplished in an office, control room, test facility, weapon system, Army missiles or aviation systems, instrumentation and data reduction/data processing including design.

C.    EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES INVOLVED IN WORK TASK

Office and control room equipment includes computers, calculators, electronic instruments, mechanical instruments, and miscellaneous precision devices.

D.    CRITICALITY OF ATTENDANCE

Regular daily attendance is required as well as some overtime hours beyond the regular work week.
